Over the past few months, at MetOne we’ve been asked “Do I Need Safety Signage for my Office” quite a lot! With the COVID-19 rules in the UK changing on a fairly constant basis, It’s pretty understandable that a lot of small business owners with high street shops are trying to figure out what they do or do not need on their storefronts.

One of the first things you should have is a sign asking visitors or customers to wear their masks before entry. With Face Masks now being pretty much mandatory when it comes to entering public places, particularly small ones, it’s a good idea to give them a friendly reminder to pop them on. With so much going on at the moment, it’s easy to forget something a simple as reapply your mask, so a little note at the door before entry gives them a little nudge in the right direction.

Something that we’ve been doing as well is adding signs to our hand sanitiser dispensers when customers enter the office. Again it’s a really simple thing but we’ve found it to be really effective in getting people to wash their hands on entry. Not only does it give them the reminder but it also directs them towards the dispensers themselves. You can either print off a sign and put it near the dispenser, or alternatively, you can buy units that already have the signage on them (a much easier solution we find!)

If you’re enforcing 2m gaps in your shop then it would also be a good idea to have some sort of floor sign on the ground to let people know where the spaces are. Make these as big and as obvious as you can then your customers just can’t miss them!
